India played Oman on 06-09-2019 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati. Sunil Chhetri put India up in front after 24 minutes through a Brandon Fernandes free-kick from the edge of the box. This is a video of the goal taken by a fan :- India dominated the first half and went in to the break with a 1-0 lead. Then, after minutes of literally nothing, the Indian defence broke down as Al Alawi scored two goals in the 82nd and 90th minutes, handing Oman the win. Neither team deserved to win but Oman have 3 points now and are on top of the group along with Qatar who smashed 6 past a hapless Afghanistan. India next play Qatar away. PLAYER RATINGS :- 1. GURPREET SINGH SANDHU - 8.0 (GK) Gurpreet was fantastic in goal against Oman. He saved a header from point blank range. His reflexes were top class. He could not do much to not concede. His reflexes were on spot. Gurpreet gets an 8 from our side. 2. RAHUL BHEKE - 6.5 (RB) Rahul Bheke, India

PLAYER RATINGS :-
1. GURPREET SINGH SANDHU - 8.0 (GK)
Gurpreet was fantastic in goal against Oman. He saved a header from point blank range. His reflexes were top class. He could not do much to not concede. His reflexes were on spot. Gurpreet gets an 8 from our side.
2. RAHUL BHEKE - 6.5 (RB)
Rahul Bheke, India's Right Back played well and maintained a good work ethic throughout the match. He did not contribute much going forward. He played well defensively but the second Oman goal came out of a chance which was created due to his mistake. An average game for our number 2. He gets a rating of 6.5 .
3. SUBHASHISH BOSE - 6 (LB)
Subhashish Bose was a bit dodgy on the pitch. He did not make many overlapping runs down the left wing. He was average defensively. He did not really do much. So, we are going for 6 in favour of Bose.
5. SANDESH JHINGAN - 7 (CB)
Sandesh Jhingan was once again solid at the back. He put his body on the line of shots and saved many shots before they even reached Gurpreet. His distribution needs some improvement. His commitment and work ethic can never be questioned. We are giving our star defender a 7.
6. ADIL KHAN - 5 (CB)
Sandesh's Center back partner Adil Khan did not have great game. He was caught napping on a few occasions. He fumbled while clearing the ball in his own box. Adil , with more awareness, could have had a much better match. Its a 5 for him.
7. ANIRUDH THAPA - 7 (CM)
This wasn't Thapa's best game in the India kit. He tried to create lots of chances. He was successful in some of his attempts at giving through balls. He misplaced quite a few passes over the 90 minutes, something which is not expected from one of the best central midfielders of the country. Its a 7 for our number 7.
10. BRANDON FERNANDES - 6 (LW)
For Brandon, it was a game of two halves. He was quite influential in the first half and even got an assist to his name. In the second half, he was almost non-existent before being taken off. He played well though and his eye for a pass is top class. Brandon gets a 6.
11. SUNIL CHHETRI - 8.5 (CF)
Captain. Leader. Legend. The only goalscorer for India on the day. His awareness to bend his run during the free-kick proves how big a role the mind plays in the game of football. His passing was good and his through balls were amazing as well. He gave it his all. Our captain gets an 8.5 .
15. UDANTA SINGH - 9 (RW)
Udnata had a great game. He used his most lethal weapon, his pace, to get past defenders. His crosses were also spot on. He was one of the best players on the pitch and was an engine down the right flank for India. Its a 9 for Udanta.
17. ROWLLIN BORGES - 7 (CDM)
Rowllin was the silent worker for the Indian team. He did his job meticulously. Except one wayward shot at goal, we did not notice another mistake from Rowllin. He played really well. He needs to work on his end product i.e. finishing and through balls. He gets a 7.
18. ASHIQUE KURUNIYAN - 9 (SS)
Ashique, according to us, was the best player on the pitch, both sides included. He came back after a long injury lay-off. He played really well. It never seemed that he was out of the game. He also showed his skillful side by nutmegging a few Oman players. Ashique gets a 9.
It was a disappointing end to a fantastic game for the Indians . We can only hope that our defence does not falter in the up coming games. India next face Qatar, in Qatar on Tuesday, 10-09-2019
